Whitney Chase is a star soccer player from Seattle who had an affair with her assistant soccer coach and is the daughter of a U. Whitney's mother came to drop her off at Essex. On the way, Evette lamented Whitney choosing a college so far away from her, which Whitney indicated was not an accident.
Still, she was happy her mother made the time to drop her off at school, though their trip was interrupted by a call from CNN. When they got to Essex, Evette walked Whitney in and told her roommates not to get her into any embarrassing situations.
While they were talking, Leighton Murray , the fourth roommate, came in, but left quickly, believing her rooming situation was a clerical error. They went to a dorm meeting, where Frude Rasmunssen introduced himself and had them share about a time they were scared to bond them.
Whitney went to her first soccer practice, where she immediately butted heads with another player, Jena. After cleaning up, she went to see her assistant coach, Dalton , whom she had a relationship with. At the next practice, she and Jena got into a physical altercation.
Dalton stepped in and told Jena she was done for the day. Whitney confronted him in the office about this, saying he couldn't make it seem like he was playing favorites with her and he needed to let her fight her own battles.
