Estimated read time: minutes. We are well into , but the movies have just started. This new year has a big slate of movies and I am excited for several titles. Others, I can take or leave, but it appears there is something for everyone in My plan for this article is to go month-by-month and highlight a couple of big titles and then provide a list of other offerings for that month.
This is not comprehensive β and keep in mind that studios like to be sneaky sometimes and don't announce a release until just a month or two before opening. Or studios may get nervous and push dates or move them up. I was excited about this movie. Sadly, we didn't get that. I was cautiously optimistic about the Mel Gibson-directed "Flight Risk. The movie has its moments, but overall it never really took off.
The big-screen adaptation of the beloved children's books is headed to theaters, and it could be a lot of fun. The books are absurd and it looks like "Dog Man," the movie, is planning on keeping up with that absurdity and I am all for it. So is my 8-year-old. She asks me daily when we're going. I mean, I'm not sure what to say. I can be a sucker for a movie that pulls at your heartstrings and "The Unbreakable Boy" is trying to do just that. The movie follows a young boy with a rare bone disease and autism and how he makes the world around him a brighter place despite the challenges he faces.
I don't know much about "Black Bag" and I hope to keep it that way. It's a spy thriller, which I am usually a sucker for. Am I excited about the live-action remake of "Snow White"? No, but many are and it will be one of the most talked about films of the year because it was one of the most talked about in considering it split potential audiences before it was ever released. You have those excited about it and those who don't like the casting and creative direction.
We'll see for ourselves this March. It's a favorite in our home, and we all laugh at it no matter how many times we watch it. Let's see if it works as well as the other film. Take one Jared Hess, a heaping dose of Jack Black, a dash of one of the most popular video games of all time and you get one of the big first releases of in "A Minecraft Movie.
