Our story begins the summer before our freshman year at Illinois State. It was the nerve-racking orientation day. Aly went into it hoping to meet some girls to hang out with on campus when school started. Little did she know she would actually meet her future husband that day. Aly was one of the first students to arrive to the meeting place. Not long after, Cam walked in and sat down right next to her. They can't seem to agree on who made the first move, but there was an instant connection.
They spent the the entire night together doing all of the preview activities, and agreed to meet up for breakfast the next morning. The dreaded goodbye was quickly approaching, but thankfully they got each others numbers and started talking as soon as they made it back home. They talked all summer long, and less than a month into school, Cam officially asked Aly to be his girlfriend.
The rest is history. No, this was no April fools joke. It was the real deal. Aly went up to Eau Claire, Wisconsin to visit Cam for her spring break. One night during the week leading up to the proposal, Cam suggested they go out for a nice dinner to celebrate Aly's birthday and his new job back home in Peoria.
Turns out, he had other plans. Aly walked out into the living room all ready to go and excited to show Cam the outfit she spent the previous 3 days searching for. After showing it off and thinking nothing more, she was ready to head out, but Cam stopped her.
The moment she saw him reach under the pillow she knew that was the moment she had been dreaming of. He got down on one knee and cue the tears! Without a doubt Aly said yes!
