For the last few days my Capo UK spec now showing 17K miles has suddenly refused to idle at less than rpm instead of the correct 1, rpm.
The dealers after a lot of searching concluded that there was a great deal of oil in the airbox which was upsetting the sensors in some way you can probably tell at this point I'm not technically minded!
They've cleaned it out, put it back together and it now runs fine - for the moment. Any other ideas what might be wrong out there and whether it may happen again. They are muttering about engine wear but at 17K - surely not.
By way of background, I bought it 3 months ago showing nearly 12K and with a service history, it had its 14K service slightly early about 3 weeks ago, I then did a 2, mile run to Spain and back over a long weekend mainly motorways , had to have new chain and sprockets on return and also got them to cancel the "service" warning which had by then come on. I've had no other probs with starting or running and on the Spanish trip I put no fresh oil in, though by the time I got back it had got down to the Min mark.
Fuel consumption on the fast-ish trip was around 42 mpg imperial. All suggestions gratefully received. By the way the run was great and the bike coped with both the Spanish back roads and the Barcelona ring road beautifully.
