Two Stearns County men made their first court appearances Friday after being accused of paying a year-old boy to perform oral sex on them in a Cold Spring park. The incidents happened in May after the boy posted an ad on craigslist. In the other case, Kenneth Neil Vilter, 55, of St. Both men are charged with engaging in prostitution. He released both men on the condition that they have no contact with anyone younger than 18 and not use computers.
Knapp changed the conditions for Vilter, who owns the Culver's restaurant in Waite Park, so he can go to the business. According to the court complaints charging the men, the boy told both men he was 15 when he met them in separate incidents at the park. Phone numbers and email addresses used to communicate with the boy traced back to residences where Burton and Vilter lived, according to the complaints. Burton initially admitted responding to ads in on craigslist but denied ever meeting with anyone because of those ads, according to the complaint.
He later told investigators that he had picked up a male because of the ad and that the male performed oral sex on him in exchange for money, according to the complaint. Vilter initially agreed to talk to investigators. When they asked him about the email account that was used to communicate with the year-old boy, he stopped talking and asked for an attorney, according to the court complaint.
